How to Appeal Your Notice of Violation and Order to Abate
Do you believe you were unjustly served a Notice of Violation and Order to Abate?
To appeal your notice and order, specific instructions listen in the actual notice paperwork are necessary. This process varies slightly depending on property location and hazard claimed. For all appeals, documentation should be made in writing and be sent to Riverside County Fire Department - Hazard Reduction Office at P.O. Box 2047, Perris, California 92570. Be sure to check and see if your notice is based on Ordinance 695 or 772. For Ordinance 695, you must respond within 15 calendar days of the postmark. For Ordinance 772, you must respond within 30 calendar days of the postmark. Once your appeal is received, an officer will set a hearing with the Board of Appeals. You will be notified in writing of the hearing date.
